The Chair of Public Contract Law launches the “Steen Treumer Thesis Award”
La Chaire de droit des contrats publics (Chair of Public Contract Law) of the University of Lyon 3 (France) is pleased to announce the creation of’ the ‘Steen Treumer Prize’ for theses in public contract law, named after the internationally renowned Danish professor in this field. On 4 July 2023 Professor and EPLG member Albert Sanchez-Graells held the public lecture ‘AI in the public sector: can procurement promote trustworthy AI and avoid commercial capture?’ at the University of Bristol Law School. Prof. and EPLG member Albert Sanchez-Graells recently publishes on his blog howtocrackanut.com two policy briefings on digital technologies and public procurement. The work is part of the Professor’s research project ‘Digital technologies and public procurement. Gatekeeping and experimentation in digital public governance’, for which he was awarded a Mid-Career Fellowship by the British Academy for academic year 2022/23. On 25-26 May, the XV Annual Meeting of the European Procurement Law Group (EPLG) was held at the University of Vigo, Spain, with the title “Buying Artificial Intelligence (AI). The Legal Framework for Public Procurement of Artificial Intelligence in the EU”. EPLG Members, representing Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Spain and the UK, engaged in comparative discussions on the main topics that will be covered in the forthcoming EPLG book.
